New Year’s Eve in St Barts: How to Secure Your Place in the World’s Most Exclusive Fleet

Every year on 31 December, Gustavia Harbour on the island of St Barthélemy becomes the most expensive fleet on the planet. On New Year’s Eve 2025/26, more than 220 superyachts gathered off the island — a record for the event.

This is far more than a party. It’s a multi-day programme: on 30 December, skippers gather for the pre-race briefing as the fleet arrives; on the morning of 31 December, the New Year’s Eve Regatta covers a 24-mile course around the island; by evening, gala dinners and private parties light up the decks of superyachts anchored offshore; and at midnight, a synchronised fireworks display over Fort Oscar is met by the horns of hundreds of yachts sounding in unison across the bay.

Why do guests choose a yacht over a villa or hotel? A yacht offers something no amount of money can buy on land: your own vantage point on the fireworks from the flybridge or the Jacuzzi on the top deck, complete privacy while remaining at the centre of the island’s social scene, and full flexibility — from joining the regatta by day to cruising on to the next island once the crowds disperse.

Singular Yachting Group offers four ways to spend New Year’s Eve on the water: the “VIP Box on the Water” package, with a guaranteed anchorage in the best viewing spot for the fireworks; “Regatta + Gala”, combining a race around the island with an onboard celebration dinner; “Berth in Gustavia”, for guests who want maximum visibility steps from Nikki Beach and the harbourfront restaurants; and “Private Island”, a quieter, family-friendly anchorage with a private chef and no late-night crowds.

One thing to know before planning this trip: yacht charters and berths in Gustavia are typically booked 6–12 months in advance, while tables at Nikki Beach and Le Ti St Barth should be secured 2–3 months ahead. The booking window for 31 December 2026 is already open — and filling quickly.
